Well Established Guitar Curriculum
I use guitar resources which are long established and combine them with my teaching approach for rapid progression. There are hundreds of guitar books out there - many guitar teachers use random texts for their students - over the years I have selected and now provide only the best text books for my students irrespective of their style or level of musicianship.
Trinity College London - Ideal for classical, flamenco and all popular styles of guitar. Trinity College London offers accredited qualifications in the performing and creative arts. Their exams and assessments are designed to help students and trainees progress; to mark an achievement at each stage of their development, and at all levels of competence, on a journey towards fulfilment of their own individual talents and abilities.
Rockschool - Perfect for learning electric guitar - rock, blues and pop. Rockschool was set up in 1991 to bring the best in pop and rock into mainstream education. Their approach is practical and relevant to the music of today. Its syllabuses are designed to develop a whole range of skills that reflect the realistic requirements of being a musician in today's world.
The RGT - Great for acoustic guitar - folk, pop, bluegrass and country music. RGT organises internationally recognised examinations for guitar - from total beginner to Diploma level - in partnership with London College of Music Exams (one of the world's most respected music examination boards, established since 1887).
I am CRB checked (certificate available upon request) and can provide guitar tuition for children and adults from pre-grade upwards. My teaching ideology is to create and adapt a unique approach for each of my students, no matter what their level of ability.
I can cater for various styles of guitar music including electric acoustic and nylon guitar lessons. I currently cater for the following: Classical, Rock, Pop, Reggae, Flamenco, Latin, Blues, and Folk. For beginners I usually recommend grounding in classical guitar - ironically this ultimately enables more rapid progression in the medium to long term.
Guitar tuition to many is about "Painting by Numbers" and there are many teachers out there. I believe that the key to learning is teaching what the student wishes to learn and in the correct way.
