I am a classically trained guitarist formerly qualified up to grade 8 and beyond with Trinity College. I possess a broad abilty and am familiar with a variety of styles. I have played in various bands in the past - from local gigs in and around London to concerts and festivals abroad. I've also spent a large amount of time in a professional studio environment. This experience allows me to offer advice to students who are aspiring to turn professional.
I am an RGT Registered Teacher. This is an international network of formerly approved tutors. The RGT was established in 1992 with the aims of improving the status and profile of guitar teachers, and helping to ensure their professional recognition within the mainstream of music education, by the establishment of an accredited range of comprehensive and well structured teaching programmes.

The Musician's Union is the biggest trade union representing musicians in the U.K. Being a member, I am provided with Public Liability Insurance, which is essential for private tuition. I also attend various teaching seminars throughout the year - this continually broadens my teaching knowledge and allows me to meet with other classically trained music teachers from all over the U.K.

People working in education are now required to carry out a CRB check in order to work nationally as a teacher. The CRB is an executive agency of the Home Office, providing wider access to bureau information through its disclosure service. This service enables organisations and individuals in the public, private and voluntary sectors to make safer recruitment decisions by identifying candidates who are suitable for certain work, especially that involve children or vulnerable adults.
